The concept of Genesis Pen was first emerged in early 2016, using state-of-the-art 3D SLA printing technology to construct our desired resin fountain pen. We recognised the possibility and potential of using SAL printing to build fountain pens in terms of novelty and simplicity. We had a design, very unique, but there are many technical problems ahead that took us one whole year to prototyping, searching for suitable resins, and getting a good SAL printer.
The first design
This is the first design we came up. A test tube-like structure with a unique double-helix DNA ink channel. To construct this channel, the viscosity of the resin, and the smoothness of ink flow have to take into consideration.
And we finally made it after solving all the problems!Together with a DNA pen stand using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing technology.
